The water comes from a borehole. The water is good for washing and cooking. However, it is advisable to bring your own drinking water.
The nearest hospital is in Manguzi in South Africa. This is a good 75 minute drive from Baleia Azul. Please keep in mind that the border post between Mozambique and South Africa operates between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm.
It is highly recommended. However, the standard diff lock type vehicle also is able to get through but has more chance of getting stuck.
